I am still unable to resolve this issue.
Using Suse 7.2, latest openLDAP, etc, ReiserFS and qmail qmail-ldap qmail-smtp-auth qmail-pop-auth qmail-ldap-control qmail-reiserfs Problem - I can recieve mail and pop-mail works. I can send local mail, but remote mail gives an error "4.4.1 Unable to reach remote host". If I recompile without the ldap control, it will send. Given that, It would seem that I am missing something from the mailcontrols in ldap. I have checked the qmailcontroldn file and it has ou=mailcontrols, dc=mycompany, dc=net where dc=mycompany, dc=net are the root and the folder is called ou=mailcontrols. I have checked, the forward/reverse DNS works and the IDENT protocol is NOT running. The recipient server is a known good production server and the sending server never makes a connection to the remote. Kicking the queue results in an almost immediate error (within 1-2 seconds) in the current log file for smtp-remote. Suggestions?
