thanks mike, my qmqpd now is running.
one last quickie,
1. do i need smtpd when i have qmtpd running? or do i need both?
2. i have qmqpd running and my in-cluster delivery in working alrite. do i need
smtpd and/or qmtpd when i have qmqpd running fine ?

i am *not* prepared to switch on and off those protocols bcos i have a very
important presentation to the boss on my project (clustering). i feared i could
ruin something.

as a clue, my main objective is to have qmqpd running bcos i am running
qmail-ldap clusters; which is doing what it should do now.

TIA
