Thanks Clint this helped a lot.

At the moment though I'm facing the problem that when I apply a rule on an
incoming message that should move that message to a specified folder, the
message gets copied rather than moved to that folder (i.e. a copy remains in
the inbox). Did you experience a similar behaviour?
