Hi,
I still think its authentication issue. I used to get this problem. I
tried for MD5 also , but failed until i switched to CRYPT.
I don't know why it was causing problems, but i think i might have done
something wrong during installation/compilation, or something which should
be done,and i didn't do it etc.
Right now its working with CRYPT for me.
Althought i wanted to use some more advanced encryption.
Also ,as Mike said, this question should be asked on courier mailing
list, b/c its related to ldap + courier's ldap module. it has nothing to do
with qmail. There ppl will be able to elaborate more on how
authdaemond.ldap works with ldap.

Anyway, if you want to try with CRYPT or other encryption, do remember to
restart the ldap service after changing slapd.conf file. Then again
set/change the password for the user , then try loggin in.:-) (hope you'd
already know this simple stuff)

Regards,
Qutub
