Trailing spaces

Hi,
        I have the latest ldap patch for qmail, and I am using returnmx check 
enabled. My problem is that some of our customers have trailing spaces 
in their e-mail
e.g. <[EMAIL PROTECTED] >
this is e-mail is valid but the problem is that qmail rejects them when 
they are sending.
Is there a solution for this or is it meant to be like that ?
