I know that parts of this have been discussed in the archives, but there are a few things uncovered. As far as I gather, the way to go is qmail-scanner. The main question I have is what scanner software is preffered. I've heard metion of sophos in the archives. What else are people using w/ qmail-ldap and how pleased are you with it. Automated updates is a plus since this is being handed off to a customer after being built.
Also, just a quick check of proceedure: On an existing qmail-ldap install, provided I have the tree originally used to build the sytem, I should probably be able to add the QMAILQUE patch by doing the following: cd qmail-1.03 make clean patch -p1 < QMAILQUE.patch make .... Stop the qmail-send process. Archive the old qmail-send and qmail-que bianaries in ../qmail/bin/ and manuall move the new ones in with appropriate permissions/ownership. Restart qmail-send.
