I have an installation of qmail-ldap in which messages are being delivered
multiple times to the user's mailbox. I've been trying to track down this
problem for quite a while, and it seems it has something to do with qmail-local
being unable to rewind the STDIN file descriptor.

Here's what the log says:

2002-11-11 12:10:18.445442500 starting delivery 981: msg 993999 to local [EMAIL PROTECTED]
2002-11-11 12:10:40.051575500 delivery 981: log: executing_'qmail-local_--_azbz_/mailstore/amigo.net.gt/a/ [EMAIL PROTECTED] om_./Maildir/'_under_uid=1038,_gid=102/
2002-11-11 12:10:53.481941500 delivery 981: deferral: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:_se_notifico_exitosamente/ Unable_to_rewind_message._(#4.3.0)/

But if I check the user's mailbox the message has been delivered!

This is the ldif entry for the user:

dn: [EMAIL PROTECTED], ou=People, o=Comcel
mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
objectClass: top
objectClass: person
objectClass: organizationalPerson
objectClass: inetOrgPerson
objectClass: qmailUser
objectClass: comcelUser
uid: azbz
givenName: Andrew B.
mailHost: mail.amigo.net.gt
mailMessageStore: /mailstore/amigo.net.gt/a/azbz
mobile: 7032496
userClass: internet
accountStatus: active
deliveryMode: localdelivery
cn: Andrew B. Zelinski
sn: Zelinski
mailAlternateAddress: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
mailForwardingAddress: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
notification: sms
deliveryProgramPath: /lmtools/bin/notify.pl

The program notify.pl is a custom perl script that sends an SMS to the user's cell phone
telling him he has mail. It always returns success (0).

This problem appears to happen only to users who have both mailForwardingAddress and
deliveryProgramPath attributes active.

What could be wrong? What else can I try?

Thanks,

-Oscar
