Hi!

phpQLAdmin
(http://www.adfinis.ch/projects/phpQLAdmin/)
allows me to search for substrings in 'Mail Alias',

then i tried to add an index for this,

--8<---------:- snip -:---------8<---------:- snip -:---------8<--
# qmail-ldap
index mail,mailAlternateAddress,mailForwardingAddress pres,eq,sub
--8<---------:- snip -:---------8<---------:- snip -:---------8<--

but OpenLDAP 2.0.27 would not allow me to do a substring index until i
changed the mailAlternateAddress attribute in qmail.schema to look like
this:

--8<---------:- snip -:---------8<---------:- snip -:---------8<--
attributetype ( 1.3.6.1.4.1.7914.1.2.1.4 NAME 'mailAlternateAddress'
DESC 'Secondary (alias) mailaddresses for the same user'
    EQUALITY caseIgnoreIA5Match
    SUBSTR caseIgnoreIA5SubstringsMatch
    SYNTAX 1.3.6.1.4.1.1466.115.121.1.26{256} )
--8<---------:- snip -:---------8<---------:- snip -:---------8<--

i was wondering which attributes are best to index:

--8<---------:- snip -:---------8<---------:- snip -:---------8<--
# General
index ou,objectClass pres,eq
index cn,uid pres,eq,sub

# qmail-ldap
index mail,mailAlternateAddress,mailForwardingAddress pres,eq,sub
--8<---------:- snip -:---------8<---------:- snip -:---------8<--

anything i missed ?

 Johann
