Using a dot in one of the domain components can create all kinds of
havoc due to the need to escape it sometimes (because the dot is part of
a regex).

Looks good to me.  That's pretty much exactly what I have, but there
might be other optimizations on indexing you might want to make.  For
just qmail-ldap, looks ok to me.
