What the heck is the difference between | | MDIRMAKE=-DAUTOMAILDIRMAKE This allows qmail-ldap to automatically create the Maildir directory inside a user home directory if it doesn't exist | | and | | HDIRMAKE=-DAUTOHOMEDIRMAKE | This allows you to create a control file /var/qmail/control/dirmaker that gives the location that will automatically create a home directory for a user that doesn't have one.
ie: user mike has no homedir which implies he also has no maildir. For the system to automatically accept mail for mike with no intervention you would need both defined. -DAUTOHOMEDIRMAKE to create mike's home directory and -DAUTOMAILDIRMAKE to create the Maildir inside that newly created homedir.
If you had only -DAUTOMAILDIRMAKE the delivery would fail as mike has no homedir for the auto Maildir creation to run in.
Hopefully that answer's your question. If you need an example of the homedir creation script I believe there is one in life with qmail-ldap. ~ Or post back and I can send mine.
