Ok, here i am ;)
I'm writing/implementing my diplom thesis "LDAP for use on schools"
This includes setting up accounts for 40000 pupils in 100 schools
and services like email (qmail-ldap), samba domains (with ldap),
proxies (squid, grand acces with ldap), ftp access (ldap auth) at home and finaly
an nice, ease to use web interface for the teachers to manage the
classes and pupils in an intuitive way.
Each school will get its own ldap-partition, and maybe
ist own qmail-forwarder/server, samba server, squid server etc.
eg. dc=schule1, dc=gelsenkirchen, dc=edu
I've setted up an test system and I'm now in the state that
I succesfully have a running smtp service for the ldap-accounts
and an pop3 service for unique accounts in the
whole ldap DIT, but not working for same account names in differend
Schools, eg.
cn=testuser1, ou=People, dc=schule1, dc=gelsenkirchen, dc=edu
mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
cn=testuser1, ou=People, dc=schule2, dc=gelsenkirchen, dc=edu
mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Any idea how enode the subdomain in the pop3-login?
Schould I user the ~control/persendhack ? testuser1%schule1 ?
or better user some ~control/users/assings
or virtual domains
but how tell I qmail_pop to use a different ldap query to select once
cn=testuser1, ou=People, dc=schule1, dc=gelsenkirchen, dc=edu
and the other time if [EMAIL PROTECTED] want to get his mail
cn=testuser1, ou=People, dc=schule2, dc=gelsenkirchen, dc=edu
If I'm setting up an pop3 seervice for each school is would be
easy to setup, but how could setup one
pop-server, eg. mail.gelsenkirchen.edu and choose the School by
the pop-login
