Slooooow SMTP response from qmail-ldap ever since Verisign stuff happened

Hello,

I run qmail-ldap (version 20030301) and have had a problem ever since 
Verislime started doing their TLD wildcard stuff. On one of my subnets, 
it takes about 25 seconds every time someone sends a message. I have 
even tried this from a telnet session telneting to port 25 of my smtp 
server. It still takes 25 seconds before I see the 220 ESMTP message.

Why is this happening and what can I do to fix it?
