I'm not sure either but if you want to run openldap under daemontools 
this is required.  As daemontools requires any process running under svc 
to stay in the foreground.  If the program forks svc loses control of it.

In the future please don't reply to a existing thread with a new 
question.  This completely munges the archives and threaded email clients.
