Yesterday on Slashdot, a story was posted about SATA RAID IDE controllers. The Intel ICH5R came up as the most consistent performer for RAID 0, 1, or 0+1 speed: http://techreport.com/reviews/2004q2/chipset-raid/index.x The report did not test the 3ware controllers, which can do RAID 5 in addition to the others above, but if you want speed you should definitely go with RAID 0+1 or just 0. > i am looking for an adaptec's ASC-39320R U320 Dual Channel. with U320 > scsi disks. > > Any experience with this hardware and performance? I have not used the particular one you mention. I would use SATA instead of SCSI if possible. Ted
