Hi guys,
I already read the qmail-ldap-control patch how-to
(insid Life with qmail) but there's a point that is not clear yet. Read this
piece from the how-to:
"This patch makes it possible to store all
the information that qmail usually gets from the controls file (usually
in /var/qmail/control/) from your LDAP
server instead of reading files."
When the author says "makes it possible", does he
mean that, once this patch is installed, the qmail system CAN
read the control settings from the ~control/files OR directly
from the LDAP directory?
If the OR condition is true, does one source have
precedence (or preference) over the other? I mean, when I am using this
patch, if I set in the ~control/helohost file that the name to use when
saying "helo" to the remote smtp servers is "spider.mynet.com.br" but,
differently, in the LDAP directory i set the analogous attribute to something
like "helohost: cock.mynet.com.br". Which of these values gonna be used by
qmail-remote when it decides what name it must use to say 'helo' for
the remote server?
thanks,
