Populated the ldap db with 5000 + accounts and slapd
really slowed down.. Qmail is complaining

@4000000041b0f4191186a414 status: local 1/10 remote 0/20
@4000000041b0f4331402759c delivery 1: deferral:
Timeout_while_performing_search_on_LDAP_server._(#4.4.3)

Maybe I have to many index entries in slapd.conf?

# Indices to maintain for this database
index   uid             pres,eq,sub
index   objectClass     eq,pres
index   cn              pres,eq,sub
index   mail            pres,eq,sub
index   default sub

Was populating the uid with text .. i.e. jonnie

Would it help if I used numeric .. ie 12345

Was hoping some one one might share their experience they've
had with this problem.

Is a re-index necessary after ldapadd?

Thanks
