Hi,

I’ve got 3 ldap servers which are served under ldap.domain.com round-robinly. Let’s say 192.169.0.10 , 192.169.0.11 and 192.169.0.12

In my Redhat 7.3 box i can see the requests to 3 ldap servers with netstat –an,  like

192.169.0.10:389

192.169.0.11:389

192.169.0.12:389

but in my Gentoo box qmail-ldap sends ldap requests to only one ip in ldap round-robin , like

192.169.0.10:389

This Gentoo box does not send ldap requests to other ldap ip’s 192.168.0.11 & 192.168.0.12

I know qmail does not make the dns requests with standard functions, but how can be the reason it differs from Redhat 7.3 box and Gentoo box?

( RedHat is with 2.4.20 kernel, Gentoo 2.6.9 kernel) How can it ignore the round-robin dns , does it cache the dns results?

Thanx,

Derya
