rbl check + qmail-ldap

hi,
currently im using qmail-ldap + spamassassin + simscan and it's a bit slow
i'm also using the rbl control file rbllist to reduce the amount of spam.

my question is that is the control rbllist function redundant with spamassassin rbl open relay check
can i just skip rbl check in spamassassin and let qmail-ldap do the tasks instead?
i'm unsure abt this and maybe somebody can help me.

thanks. by the way, disabling the rbl check in spamassassin made the system faster than before.
