AFAIK, you can have users from different domains under the
same ou=People, anyway that's not the point, just give a higher
dc level in your tree to LDAP, it will recurse until find the user.
If you have dc=sub1,dc=dom,dc=org and dc=sub2,dc=dom,dc=org,
just tell LDAP to look into dc=dom,dc=org. That should solve it.
