Perhaps you did not notice but qmail-ldap ships with a full set of run scripts in /var/qmail/boot. qmail-smtpd.rules is used by these run scripts. If you do not use the shipped run script for what ever reason you have all .rules files and their corresponding .cdb files are unused. -- :wq Claudio
