Virtual Domains

I am testing out the virtualbasedn patch and looking to integrate it into my current qmail-ldap setup and have run into a snag.  It seems that while ip and named based 
virtual domains are working for pop and imap flawlessly, mail delivery is not.  Qmail-send is unable to find the mailbox.  Is anyone using the patch and able to enlighten me on their ldap setup?  Are all your ou's under the same base(ou=domain1, dc=domains, dc=com ou=domain2, dc=domains, dc=com)?  I am looking to add a separate ldap database entirely, so the split would be necessary.
