Ok, here I go:

This, as a lot of other features in qmail-ldap too, should be selected
by default, along with drop-pre-greet. :)

I didn't look too closely yet, but this feature should be tunable per
host IP or network block (from qmail-smtpd.rules).

Logging is substandard. I've just replaced

strerr_die1x(1,"qmail-smtpd: before greeting: ");

with

logpid(2); logstring(2, "before greeting: ");
logflush(2);
_exit(1);

and similar, because that seemed to be the easiest way to get the PID,
too. This lets me associate a connection drop with a specific client
IP.
