Hi,

i'm trying a combination made of qmail-scanner + clamscan for ms virus
filtering, on a redhat 7.3.

i've installed the following packages for qmail (just in case is useful for
a diagnose):

autorespond-2.0.2
checkpassword-0.90
daemontools-0.76
spamcontrol_180
dot-forward-0.71
ezmlm-0.53
sqwebmail-3.3.7.20020823
fastforward-0.51
qmail-1.03
ucspi-tcp-0.88.
qmailadmin-1.0.6
vpopmail-5.2.1
vqadmin-2.3.2

For qmail-scanner i've installed:

clamav-0.24
qmail-scanner-1.14
tnef-1.1.2
maildrop-1.4.0
perl-suidperl-5.6.1-34.99.6 rpm for redhat

i've followed the "qmail handbook" (Dave Sill) method of installation, and
qmail seems to work well, so i added in my /service/qmail-smtpd/run

the following line:

exec /usr/local/bin/softlimit -m 10000000 \

increasing softlimit so the smtp won't crash for qq errors.

Here is what happens:

- perlscanner work perfectly and filter mail accordingly to the parameters
i've manually set up (like vbs, and pif attachment not allowed).
Users (admin, recipients and sender) are notified correctly.

- the test_installation.sh script works.

- a clamscan scan on virated files saved on the localhost (and mailserver),
find the virii without problem.

- THE SAME files if sent by mail are tagged by clamscam as clean and qmail
delivery them in the local mailboxes, as it SHOULDN'T do.

What i could check? Need any additional info or log detail?

 Thanks in advance,

Carlo
