It may be free but
- the virus sig updates do NOT seem to be free ?
- there's no "off-the-shelf" autoupdater script for the sig files anyway.
- there's a rather lengthy disclaimer that gets output with -each- cmd-line
  invocation of 'pavcl'...even with -AUT flag it gets displayed
- it also scans boot sectors with each invocation and I do not see any ref
  to a way to stop that un-needed overhead.

With all due respect, you might be better off with clamAV, F-Prot, RAV or
another similar "Q-S supported" AV tool.
