I could be completely wrong and that might work, but I don't see how as the
commands are completely different for each binary.

I guess it is possible that it is build into clamav, but I never thought to
look.

I'll take a look now :)

Maybe a stupid question:

clamdscan is supposed to be the clamd client, to be used instead of
clamscan.
Couldn't  this be done (without your patch), just renaming clamscan to
clamscan.original and symlinking clamdscan to clamscan?
Any gotchas?
