ive been using the perl scanning module to filter email by attachment's file extension.
i was just wondrin', if quaratine-attachment.txt says block all .EXE files, it will block all exe files, and it does, but if i rename the file.. say to .doc, the file can easily pass tru the server?
is there any way to stop this?
Only if you block all attachments. Besides, if someone takes an .Exe and renames it .Doc, the recipient is now responsible for renaming it back to .Exe otherwise the file is useless.
