What does the MailScan option in the clamd.conf do? -----Original Message----- From: Steve Crowder [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, August 28, 2003 1:20 PM To: Richard Lyszczek Cc: Nick Twaddell; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [Qmail-scanner-general]qmail-scanner not scanning attachments??
Hi I have followed those notes on two separate FreeBSD 4.8 boxes and it works a treat. To my way of thinking it's got to be better loading the virus patterns into memory just the once as a daemon as opposed to every time an email arrives. That definately makes sense. I figured it had to do with the fact that the username clamscanner runs under does not have access to the directoy. Just did not have the time to play around with it. -Rich Quoting Steve Crowder <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > Hi > > I have just finished writing up my notes on clamd/clamdscan with > qmail-scanner 1.16 for FreeBSD 5.1 which I have attached.
