Check the perms on /var/run and the socket file. Location should be in you
clamd.conf
The clamd.log file should have a PID error and something about the socket
file already exists.
I place clamav usr in group root and removed the socket file. Looks like
that worked for me, but I'm not running mine with the service/clamd/run.

I just setup qmail with all the goodies on FreeBSD 5.1.  I am getting
this error in the log.  clam_scan: corrupt or unknown clamd scanner
error or memory/resource/perms problem - exit status 2  Is anyone
familiar with this?
