hehe You're having a problem patching, so you showed every step you made except the PATCH step! hehe That was the ONE step you should have detailed!! Maybe you should include THAT step, which will point to a problem. Perhaps you don't know how to patch properly. If you compile an executible, then patch and recompile, they are NEVER the same. You obviously did NOT patch, because if it's the same as before, then EVERYTHING, including the source used to compile is the same!
