Hi all,[snip]
I'm having weirdness from qmail-scanner/clamscan. Firstly, here is what I'm using:
SoL (Server optimised Linux) - a SuSE variant
netqmail-1.05 (the package with the QMAILQUEUE patch)
clamav-0.68
qmail-scanner-1.20
BUT (and this is the only thing that isn't working), if I send a message with an attachment that contains a virus signature, qmail-scanner/clamscan isn't picking it up.
($? >> 8) is equiv of dividing the return code by 256 (2 to the 8th). Your raw return code was 11, which (divided by 256) is less than zero. If you had printed $clamscan_status, you'd find a value of 0 meaning "No Virus"
A -guess- on my part would be permissions, clamav user needs to be able to read the QS files. With the -r [recursive] scanning option, file open errors are ignored and this -may- be your problem. When you find the virus manually, you are (likely) scanning as a diff uid.
BTW
a) QS currently at 1.21
b) clamav-68 is known to have a problem (with unrarlib as I recall), and 0.68-1 was released the day after 0.68, though they still recommend moving to 0.70-rc -
"We strongly encourage our users to upgrade to 0.70-rc instead of
0.68. Although quite young, 0.70-rc should prove much more stable
than any 0.6x release."
