cleaning out queue.

How do i clean out the queue. I want all the messages erased from it.  Do
I just erase /var/qmail/queue/mess direcotry ?  Also what program do I
used to read the mail from the prompt ?  I normally use Pine with
Sendmail but it does not work with qmail.
