I've a debian 2.0.36 and tried it with 2.2.1 ( the same ).
Only a small installation ( the smallest ~28 MB) with procmail and libc5
(for mcaffee) & libc6 Kernel-source 2.0.36 & 2.2.1

And a running qmail 1.03 without patches!
checkpassword0.81, rblssmtpd 0.70, daemontools 0.53 and ucspi-tcp-0.84

Then I've tried this and it was ok.

I've done as user metamail a mail with eicar.com write to a testfile in
/var/tmp/ and than

uvscan --secure -rv --summary /var/tmp/

he has found the testvirus give out the report . I thing it's ok.


In the /var/log/scanmails/logfile  is stand this :
