Don't. It won't ever work. You have to recompile qmail.

[root@saturnin smtp]# ls -l /var/qmail/queue/lock

prw--w--w-   1 qmails   qmail           0 Mar  8 14:57 trigger

However, you need to recompile qmail with changed uids. No 
exception. qmail-send is running under a uid of qmails; it must be 
able to open the sendmutex file above...
