qmail won't start!?

hi folks,   I've finally got qmail to work with a lot of help from Johan Almqvist and Peter Samuel - thanks guys! However, the funny thing is that when we had to reboot the server, qmail just won't start!   The init scripts are in, and I even tried starting it from the command line, but nothing happens.
