Interestingly, it should probably be something that each MTA knows about to be truly useful, consider secondary MXes gateway systems, etc. Ahh, a change in SMTP - fat chance! Yes, doing this properly would require an SMTP extension. I think it could be fairly easily added to the DSN extension in RFC 1891. (Of course, qmail doesn't support DSN.) Ian
