Did you replace
/usr/sbin/sendmail
or
/usr/lib/sendmail
with a link to
/var/qmail/bin/sendmail
? If not, do it.
The eMails should be in the sendmail queue still ... so you might want
to move your or sendmail to sendmail.old an do a
/usr/{sbin,lib}/sendmail.old -q
to get them delivered.
