Check to make sure that the patch to checkpassword inserted the line:

char *opensmtp = "/usr/local/bin/pop3-record";

Correctly, the error looks like it is coming from the
call *to* pop3-record from checkpassword, not pop3-record itself

(Hoping I am guessing correctly)
