It looks like a
   kill -s SIGALRM pid
(I’m using RedHat 6.2) where you are using the pid of the qmail-send
daemon, will cause the daemon to send any messages outstanding in the
queue.  This according to my reading of the qmail-send man page, and
the kill man page.

I haven’t actually tried it.
