Thanks, but when i run the smtpd part manually it hangs like below:

root@Area79:/var/qmail/bin# ./qmail-smtpd
220 area79.cnm-uk.net ESMTP

I then have to kill the process :/

I forgot to mention that i'm running it on Slackware 7
