qmail-scanner uses Bruce Guenter's QMAILQUEUE patch to insert itself in
the message injection chain. This way, you can set it on a per-host or
per-IP basis (through tcpserver's tcprules files) and have complete
flexibility.

qmail-scanner can be used with simple scripts that look for .vbs
attachments or other cruft, rather than a commercial virus scanner.

It's possible to write automatic software that doesn't behave this badly
-- Bruce Guenter's autoreplier and others do reasonable jobs of not
replying to mailing list mail.
