echo 5000000 > /var/qmail/control/databytes
That is probably what you want. 5000000 is of course just an
example that would limit the maximum message size to about 5 MB.
Please note that attachments get bigger through encoding so you
can't send a 4.9 MB attachment if your limit is 5 MB, just as a note ;)
