No, you don't.  The TAI timestamps have the benefit of being easy to
parse, they're sortable, yada, yada, yada.  To view the logs with
human-readable timestamps is trivial, as you've noted.  If you
positively must do this, it's possible with multilog (think "post
processing filter"), but you can figure out the precise details
yourself.
