mailing list creation fails

Using qmailadmin-0.38, vpopmail-4.9.4 and ezmlm-idx-0.40 on solaris
2.6...

Mailing list creation seems to fail utterly.  After filling in the
form and submitting it, I'm returned a blank page with the following
URL:

http://blank.org/cgi-bin/qmailadmin/com/addmailinglistnow?newu=biversity&[EMAIL PROTECTED]&param1=-A&param2=-B&param3=-d&param4=-f&param5=-G&param6=-H&param7=-I&param8=-J&param9=-L&param10=-m&param11=-O&param12=-p&param13=-p&param14=-q&param15=-R&param16=-S&param17=-t&param18=-u&sql1=&sql2=&sql3=&sql4=&sql5=&sql6=&user=postmaster&dom=biversity.org&time=976076825&x=36&y=10

Nothing is recorded to the apache errorlog or to syslog -- am I
missing something here?
