A few days back I sent in an email regarding an error I was getting when sending some of my clients a 3.5MB file. Well, it turns out the file size has nothing to do with anything as I can't even send certain clients an email directly.
For instance, when I send [EMAIL PROTECTED] an email I get this error: ------------------------------------------------------ This is the Postfix program at host mailrelay.t-mobile.com. I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not be be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below. <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: Host or domain name not found. Name service error for name=contemporarymortage.com type=A: Host not found ------------------------------------------------------ You had earlier stated that DNS was the problem. You said that "the dns server on 216.53.191.49 doesn't appear to be working. This is a problem and will cause lots of problems, not just with email." I appreciate that and had my server admin look at it right away. He came back with the following: "The dns server wasn't listening on the second IP. I fixed that problem. This shouldn't have caused the problem you described however. DNS is designed to continue service even if one of the name servers is down. That's why two are always set up." So, after the DNS issue is resolved, I still cannot send [EMAIL PROTECTED] a message without it getting bounced with the same error message as before. I have deleted his account and readded it just in case it could correct anything. I have some other users experiencing the same problem. It also appears that they are able to receive mail normally sometimes, and sometimes not, depending upon the sender if that is possible. Your thoughts? Jay Lepore eOriginate.com -----Original Message----- From: Admin [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, October 27, 2004 7:02 PM To: Mike Smith Subject: DNS Problem - 2nd Attempt Mike, I just got off the phone with Inter7.com and they are indicating I have a DNS problem on my end. Their investigation is shown below starting with my email to them indicating I'm having a problem with large file sizes. I've also had a few other very strange email occurances including an email I sent to someone somehow ending up in another one of my customers inboxes. I need your thoughts on this as their final statement indicates this is a potentially major problem. Thanks.
