Hi Charles:
I noted this problem some time ago. I hope you get an answer.

Hi,
I suppose this is the best list since qmailadmin writes out the .qmail file and the vacation directory...
I've tested this with autorespond 2.0.4 (from sf.net site), autorespond 2.0.2 (freebsd ports), qmailadmin 1.0.29, and qmailadmin 1.2.3.
When setting an autoresponder or vacation message, the user is prompted for a subject and a message. Everything seems to be written properly according to the autorespond docs:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]/home/vpopmail/domains/test.bway.net]# cat .qmail-blah
|/usr/local/bin/autorespond 10000 5 /home/vpopmail/domains/test.bway.net/BLAH/message /home/vpopmail/domains/test.bway.net/BLAH
And then the contents of "BLAH":
[EMAIL PROTECTED]/home/vpopmail/domains/test.bway.net/BLAH]# cat message From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: test
test responder
The contents are the same on a vacation entry.
If I send mail to this address, I get the following message back:
Date: 11 Nov 2004 23:16:04 -0000 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: this is the subject
From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: test
test responder -------- Original Message --------
this is the original message body
As you can see, autorespond is taking the original subject and replying with that rather than the subject set in qmailadmin. It's also adding the "From:" and "Subject:" lines from the qmailadmin-written message file within the body of the message.
Is anyone else seeing this? It's been like this for quite some time, I'm just now getting around to trying to track down what's going on.
Thanks,
Charles
