can you log in as a normal user, just not postmaster?  If you can, then 
something is screwy.  If you can't, check the permissions on the qmailadmin 
binary, they need to be setuid to the vpopmail user or root, depending on 
your setup.

99 times out of 100, setuid vpopmail is all you need.
