in ~/vpopmail/domains, each autoresponder (mail robot) has a
directory. As in, [EMAIL PROTECTED] has ~/vpopmail/domain.com/AUTO. A
few of these directories have a ton of empty files in the format
'tmp13264.1133891555'. They all appear to be zero length.

The autorespond README only says :

Usage is as follows:

autorespond time num message dir [ flag arsender ]

time - amount of time to consider a message (in seconds)
num - maximum number of messages to allow within time seconds
message - the filename of the message to send
dir - the directory to hold the log of messages

'vpopmail/domain.com/AUTO' is used as the 'dir' argument
in .qmail-auto. But I don't see how these are log messages. They
are all separate 0-length files. What are
these, and can I remove them? Should I set up a cron job to do that
automatically?

thanks,
alex
