For backups &
maintenance scripts, you could find lots of useful information on Jake's website
(http://www.jakev.com/qmail). For clamAV, you should
have a cron job to run Freshclam for updating of the virus
definition files. For Spamassassin, you should add in more rules as you see fit.
You could also download RulesDuJour and have a cron job run it
occasionally to update your spamassassin rules.
By default,
spamassassin and clamAV should work. However, the ruleset they use might not be
as up to date.

i have setup qmail toaster with 1 domain and it works fine, now what i want
to know is after testing it that it works, what things would you recommend,
like which config files should be backed up, what patches should be
installed, etc. i want to know about routine maintainece of qmail, how to
harden it etc.
and i want to know i can send email etc, but is clam AV and spamassasin work
by default or they need to be configured ??
