I've got a few users that seem to have repeating CNAME lookup errors that end up being 'severe' enough or persistent enough that the message fails to be deliverd to some recipients. I need to figure out what I can do to fix or work around this. Messages to aol.com addresses seem to be a common thread in the failed attempts. Headers of one such failure (sanitized) quoted below:

This is the qmail-send program at mail.<domain>. I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses. This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out. <<aol_user>@aol.com>: CNAME lookup failed temporarily. (#4.4.3) I'm not going to try again; this message has been in the queue too long. --- Below this line is a copy of the message.
