Very nice post, Thomas. You've been very descriptive. :)

Unfortunately, the build error isn't quite as descriptive as you are, and
255 is a generic error code. :( There's an error in the %pre portion of the
.spec file (or something in the environment that's causing the error), but
it doesn't tell us much about what it's trying to do. I've no clue what the
error might be.

I'm running the same thing on my toaster now. Let me see if I can spot what
might be the problem in the .spec file. I'll get back to you shortly.
